We here at Camp Shane have always believed that any weight loss achieved by our campers no matter how small results in immediate benefits. Of course our aim has always been and remains maximizing the amount of weight a camper can lose by sticking to proper portion control and a healthy diverse diet appealing to not only the eyes and taste buds, but also nourishing to the body.
So it was with great delight that a very recent article in the New York Times Wellness section on 12/12/14 provided the kind of empirical evidence to support what we have always known. The article by Nicholas Bakalar to sum it up for you, basically says that even modest weight loss reduces cardiovascular risk and also “led to multiple favorable changes”. An incentive if we ever heard one! Try and find the article on the NY Times site for a good read and let us know what you think.
